In the context of the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan to Belgium from the 30th of March till the 1st of April, Lamett’s president Thomas Baert had the honour of meeting both the Chinese Presidential as Belgian Royal Couple at the College of Europe in Bruges.

　　中國國家＊＊＊＊＊攜＊＊＊＊夫人＊＊＊于3月30日抵達比利時，4月1日啟程回國。樂邁總裁Thomas Baert有幸在布魯日同時會見了中國國家＊＊＊＊＊夫婦和比利時國王王后。

　　After his meeting with the Chinese president, Thomas Baert, who started working in Beijing 18 years ago and opened his own factory in Shanghai in 2002 in which he currently employs 1600 people, was interviewed by the local television channel Focus WTV. During the interview Thomas said: “This is a real coronation for every Belgian person. Today you need to be proud. This is the recognition of the year long cooperation between our province and China. This is a very important moment … the proof of the importance of Bruges and our country.”

　　Thomas Baert 18年前開始在北京工作，2002年在上海成立了自己的一家公司,專門生產木地板，設計強化，實木，LVT地板，目前已擁有1600名員工。Thomas Baert接受了比利時當地WTV電視臺的采訪。在采訪中，Thomas說道：“這對于每個比利時人來說都是一種加冕。今天值得你們驕傲。＊＊＊的到訪，成為比中關系史上新的重要里程碑。這對于布魯日以及我們整個國家都是非常重要的時刻。

　　Belgium was one of the first Western countries who established diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China, in 1971. The meeting between the President and the Belgian Royal Couple HRH King Philip and HRH Queen Mathilde and Belgium’s highest political and business authorities like Lamett’s President Thomas Baert contributes to a mutual better understanding and cooperation between both countries. The excellent relations between China and Belgium are also shown by the recent arrival of the two panda’s Xinghui and Haohao to Pairi Daiza in Belgium, whom the Chinese President also went to see during his stay.

　　1971年，比利時與中國正式建交，比利時是第一個與中國建交的西方國家。此次中國和比利時兩個＊＊＊＊＊以及比利時最高政治和商業(yè)＊＊＊(就如樂邁總裁Thomas Baert)的會晤大大增進了雙方的了解與合作。＊＊＊訪問比利時期間去看了“星徽”和“好好”熊貓外交加深了比中友誼，密切了人文交流。

　　Last but not least, the President also visited the European Union in Brussels, the capital of Europe. Being the first Chinese Head of State to visit the European Institutions, Xi Jinping didn’t only stress the relationship between China and the European countries separately, but also the cooperation between China and the European Union as a whole.
